This model is broadly similar to my model of LA367. It is fitted with a new syle front panel - the one EFE should have produced instead of the AL style front which they did. This was built up by first cutting a deep groove into the original panel and then using layers of filler and plastic card to create the shape. The bus also has a second door which is a whitemetal item with filler around it to add guttering etc. The interior was modified to accommodate this by replacing most of the floor, removing a seat and adding a step and draft screens. The bustle shared much detail with the AN68 type I use so I modified one to include extra moulding and new lights in the correct position. Most of the H, J and K registered GGPTE Atlanteans eventually had different mouldings on the bustle sides - similar to the AN68s and this is represented on the model. These were probably home-made replacements.

Shortly, the yellow on this model will be repainted with a more accurate match and it will receive different adverts.

Similar LA517 (XGA 15J) has recently been preserved by a consortium including myself. The bus is in a very complete and original though delapidated condition and it is intended to replace the centre door at some time. It also retains its interior Luminator lighting. While I would prefer to see the bus restored in PTE livery, other group members prefer GCT livery, despite this being represented on up to 3 other PDR Atlanteans. At best I hope it will be alternatly repainted so that one day it can look like this.
